Introduction
Why do companies pick Ballpark over UserTesting?
When we speak to our customers who have switched to Ballpark from UserTesting, there's often a few common themes in their feedback.
Product, design and research leadership frequently tell us that Ballpark is the better option for democratising research due to it's lower barrier of entry and scalable pricing model. Many teams we spoke to were sharing logins to UserTesting due to plan or pricing restrictions making it difficult to execute on a democratisation strategy.
Next, Ballpark has a deep integration with Figma which produces heatmaps, conversion reports and more whereas UserTesting has no integration with Figma, making tracking impossible without watching videos to see what happened
Finally, you'll notice that Ballpark is a powerful unmoderated research tool, but also a fantastic survey tool in its own right. UserTesting doesn't have survey capabilities like conditional logic, rating scale and much more, limiting it's ability to be used by marketing teams.
A few extra reasons for switching:
Ballpark does not charge you for testing with your own participants
Ballpark doesn't require the participant to install any apps or plugins
Unlimited users, responses and video on every plan
No add-ons for customer support, training, workshops or customer success
Looking at public reviews, we see a similar story:
Reviewers felt that Ballpark meets the needs of their business better than UserTesting.
When comparing quality of ongoing product support, Ballpark and UserTesting provide similar levels of assistance.
For feature updates and roadmaps, our reviewers preferred the direction of Ballpark over UserTesting.
