Introduction
Why do companies pick Ballpark over Dscout?
When we speak to customers who have switched to Ballpark from Dscout, there are several mission-critical reasons why.
The biggest one is research democratisation.
Product, design and research leaders often find it difficult to scale research across their organisation with Dscout because of its seat-based, enterprise-only pricing structure. Over time, this can mean fewer people are able to run research themselves, with teams sometimes resorting to shared logins, which is less than ideal for governance, visibility and collaboration.
With Ballpark, you can add your entire company to the platform at no extra seat cost. Teams can create surveys, run tests and consume insights without worrying about additional licences or access limitations.
Speed is another major reason teams switch.
Dscout is powerful for moderated research and diary studies, but that depth can make it harder to run fast, design-led research at scale. Customers switching to Ballpark often tell us they want a simpler way to launch studies, test concepts, validate prototypes and gather feedback quickly.
There are also operational frustrations that come up frequently in user feedback around Dscout, including study approval delays, manual review steps before launch and screeners needing to be approved. For teams that need to move quickly, waiting for study approval can slow down decision-making and make research feel heavier than it needs to be.
A few extra reasons for switching:
Ballpark has a single enterprise tier that includes all features
Ballpark has real-time collaboration, allowing multiple people to create surveys and tests together
No add-ons for customer support, training, workshops or customer success
